Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 – August 9: Fly to Salt Lake City

Arrive in Salt Lake City and meet your Tour Director and fellow travelers in the evening at a welcome reception. The afternoon is free to settle in or explore nearby shops and restaurants.

Day 2 – August 10: Salt Lake City → Jackson, WY

Begin with a guided sightseeing tour of Salt Lake City, including Temple Square, the Capitol Building, and downtown. Then travel north to the charming Wild West town of Jackson, Wyoming, where wooden sidewalks, shops, galleries, and restaurants await.

Day 3 – August 11: Jackson → Grand Teton National Park → Yellowstone National Park (West Yellowstone)

Marvel at the scenic peaks and pristine lakes of Grand Teton National Park. Visit Jenny Lake, watch for moose, elk, and bears, and then enter Yellowstone — home to geysers, canyons, waterfalls, and abundant wildlife. End the day in West Yellowstone.

Day 4 – August 12: Yellowstone National Park Excursion

Spend the day exploring Yellowstone’s wonders: geysers like Old Faithful, the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Mammoth Hot Springs, and more. Keep an eye out for bison, elk, bears, wolves, and coyotes along the way.

Day 5 – August 13: Yellowstone → Virginia City → Helena

Travel north with a stop at Earthquake Lake Visitor Center, then visit the Old West town of Virginia City before continuing to Montana’s capital city of Helena.

Day 6 – August 14: Helena → Missoula → Kalispell

Head north through scenic Montana. Stop at the Smokejumper’s Visitor Center in Missoula to learn about wildfire fighters, then continue to Kalispell, your gateway to Glacier National Park.

Day 7 – August 15: Glacier National Park Excursion

Day 8 – August 16: Kalispell → Waterton Lakes National Park (Canada)

Cross into Canada and arrive at Waterton Lakes National Park, where towering peaks meet crystal-clear lakes and waterfalls.

Day 9 – August 17: Waterton Lakes → Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump → Calgary

Visit Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to learn about Indigenous peoples and their relationship with bison. Continue to Calgary for a guided city tour including the Saddledome, Olympic Park, and Stampede grounds.
